NICOLE ROMEI
About
Nicole Romei is a 3rd year Speech Pathology student at the Australian Catholic University (ACU). She is also the 3rd year Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) Student Representative for ACU within the VIC Branch. Alongside this, Nicole is the Secretary for the Speech Pathology Student Society Melbourne (SPSSM), within ACU.
Nicole has been a member of SPA, since 2018, when she first began studying the Bachelor of Speech Pathology. She decided to become a SPA Student Representative because she wanted to be more engaged within the professional Speech Pathology community and learn as much as she could about the wide variety of specialty areas Speech Pathology has to offer. Nicole is currently interested in paediatrics, fluency and voice.
Whilst studying, Nicole has volunteered for English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) to aid English language teachers and is a clinic volunteer for Voice Medicine Australia. Nicole has also hosted a variety of events whilst being actively involved with SPSSM.
In addition to her studies, Nicole has a Bachelor of Nursing from Monash University and currently works as a Registered Nurse. Nicole’s nursing speciality is Haemodialysis. She has worked in other areas such as nursing education, nephrology, oncology, general medicine, neuro rehabilitation and many more.
